What You’ll Learn

You will build fundamental knowledge in biology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, and psychology. After completing coursework on campus, our students learn in a hands-on environment by participating in a 24-month clinical internship.

Prepare for a Management Role

The program includes an optional emphasis in management for those interested in pursuing leadership positions. In addition, we include Christian, Catholic, Benedictine values in our curriculum to help students become servant leaders.

Become Eligible for Certification

When you graduate, you are eligible to take the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) National Board Exam to become certified as a Registered Radiologic Technologist and Radiographer.

Employment Trends

The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics projects the demand for radiologic and MRI technicians to grow by 6% through 2032 as an aging population increases the need for medical imaging as a diagnostic tool. Graduates of the radiologic technology program often work in the X-ray department in hospitals, clinics, or mobile units. Radiologic technologists can also work in other areas, such as cath labs, electrophysiology, interventional radiology, radiation therapy, mammography, or performing CT or MRI scans.

During my time at the University of Mary in the Radiologic Technology program, I have grown immensely as a person; and not just mentally or practically, but spiritually and maturely as well. I recommend Radiologic Technology because the degree offers multiple roads into medicine upon graduation and it gives flexibility for future career options and scientific endeavors.
